The architect-designed house
Marit and Kjell live with their children in an architect-designed house in Narvik, Norway. The newly built 300-square-meter villa has Plejd installed.
When planning their new home, they looked for a reliable and efficient solution to control the lighting. Together with their electrician, they chose Plejd, which is a standard choice for many installations. The result is a home where modern design meets smart functionality.
Adjustable lighting
In the villa, luminaires from Plejd have been installed, including over 50 downlights, two outdoor lamps, and 40 meters of LED strip. The LED strip creates accent lighting indoors and outdoors, highlighting details and adding visual effects.
A significant advantage of using luminaires from Plejd is the ability to adjust the color temperature of all lights. The lighting can be customized from warm to cool, creating different moods. Cooler light, similar to daylight, is ideal for activities like cleaning and working, as it boosts energy and focus. Warm light, on the other hand, creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.
Smart scenes
Lighting in the home is controlled using scenes and astro/time schedule. When leaving the house, the "Away" scene is activated with a simple press of a button by the front door, turning off the selected lights. When they return, the "Home" scene is activated, switching on the preset lighting.
They use time schedules for some outdoor lighting and in shared spaces, where lights turn off or dim at set times. Additionally, the astro schedule automates the outdoor lighting, turning on at sunset and off at sunrise.
Flexible and energy-efficient lighting
The family appreciates the simplicity, the smooth and user-friendly app, and all the possibilities Plejd offers. A significant advantage is the ability to adjust the color temperature of Plejd’s downlights using a preset scene.
In the Plejd app, it is easy to customize the lighting in each room. By adjusting the light according to design preferences and occasions, a flexible and pleasant lighting environment is created.
