The barn house
In Borgunda, Sweden, a newly built barn-style home is fully controlled with Plejd. From the start, the family wanted a system that was easy to live with, focusing on simple control and reliable functionality. The ability to integrate with other platforms, such as Apple® Home, was also a key factor. Plejd was the natural choice, a solution that met all their requirements while remaining cost-effective.
A complete solution
More than 70 Plejd devices were installed during construction. The system includes everything from a Gateway, dimmers, and relays to LED drivers and smart plugs, creating a solid foundation with a well-planned installation from day one. While Plejd is used to control almost all lighting in the home, the setup goes beyond that. Even the electric pool cover is integrated into the system, demonstrating how the solution can be used for more than just lighting.
Effortless, automated lighting
In everyday life, it’s all about letting the home run itself. In the evening, a night mode is activated to turn off all lighting throughout the house, while outdoor lighting and window spotlights are automatically controlled via astro schedule.

Thanks to the integration with Apple® Home, the lights turn off automatically when the family leaves and switch back on when they return. In the morning, the lighting gradually dims up in sync with the alarm clock – a small detail that makes a big difference.
Plejd gets the job done
All control is gathered in one place via the app, making it easy to adjust lighting from anywhere. At the same time, the family rarely needs to think about what’s on or off. The system handles that. The combination of scenes and automations ensures that everything simply works.
The installation process was smooth, and the family is very pleased with the result. They are already planning to install Plejd in their new garage, which is currently under construction.
